On October 21-22, the ladies are heading to Elkhart Lake to attend a Flourish Women’s Conference. They will have a wonderful time of fellowship, fun, and even learn something about Jesus. It is a great opportunity to spend time together and join old and new friends for a relaxing, regenerating weekend! This conference is open to all women and we encourage you to invite female friends and family to share in this experience. The Osthoff Resort is a beautiful resort in Elkhart Lake, WI and will be our host.
Our main speaker is Pastor Lisa Schurrer Larsen. Friday night she will be speaking about “Redefining the Valley”- We think of valleys as low places, but often in the lowest places, God is taking us higher. Looking at the story of Hagar, let’s redefine the valley as a lush place where we can thrive!
In Saturday’s closing, Lisa will speak on “Fundamentals of Flourishing”. Paul lived more days in the figurative desert than he could count, yet he lived a life of increasing growth and joy! Let’s join Paul, together with Silas, in a jail cell, to explore what the apostle can teach us about flourishing day to day.
Saturday morning we will have worship led by Sara Mertz, followed by a three lady panel which includes Anncille Engel, Heather Rennie and Miranda Carlson. The panel will be talking about, and answering questions from the group, about Flourishing in Different Stages of Life.
We will have times of worship and prayer and several breakout sessions for you to choose from. Breakout sessions include: a prayer walk with Mary Ann Liefke; Flourishing at home with Sherry Kostreva; An art project- Flourishing in Calligraphy with Heather Rennie; and topics of “God’s Extravagant Gesture” with Lisa Schurrer Larsen; and “Flourishing Your Spiritual Gifts” with Mariette Piencikowski.
The cost for Friday & Saturday is $179 per person for a two bedroom suite; $254 for a single room. For Saturday only the cost is $94. Saturday meals are included in all rates. A $50 deposit is due with online registration; or if registering through the church office by September 1st . The remaining balance is due by September 14th.
Main Speakers
Rev. Lisa Schurrer Larsen is a wife of 28 years, a mom to two adult daughters, and the lead pastor of a multi-site church. After running from God’s call on her life for years, and marrying an atheist (her husband got saved about 10 years into their marriage!), she decided to go back to seminary, got her Master’s Degree, and began working as an associate pastor. She then transitioned to church planter/lead pastor in Mequon. They adopted a second campus in Milwaukee three years ago. She is also a licensed realtor and she and her husband build homes as a hobby.
Anncille Engel is a wife of 55 years, she is a knower of all things. She has experience as a school teacher, crafter, singer, prayer warrior, mother and wife. She is a vessel of information.
Heather Rennie is the mother of 3 children: one in college & two teenaged boys at home. She has been married for 24 years. She wears many hats: mom, art educator and domestic engineer just to name a few.
Miranda Carlson has been married for 12 years and is the mom to 3 adorable children. She knows what it is like to juggle a job, keep a clean house, keep her husband happy and feed the kids all at the same time!
Breakout Leaders
Heather Rennie is an art educator at Oconto School district, with 27 years experience She will be teaching calligraphy and how flourishing has an emotional connection to handwriting.
Sherry Kostreva has been married for 41 years and raised 3 beautiful daughters. She loves an organized home and also helps to keep order at the family run Kostreva farm.
Mariette Piencikowski has been a part of the Assembly of God since she was a little girl. She is all about listening to the Holy Spirit and following His direction.

God’s Extravagant Gesture with Lisa Schurrer Larsen: Are you struggling with self worth? Is your value determined by voices of the world? When God spoke the world into existence, you were the flourish of His pen, His extravagant gesture! It’s time to begin seeing yourself that way.

Flourishing In Calligraphy: Learning the basis of calligraphy with Heather Rennie.
Flourishing Your Gifts: (Based on Romans 12) Mariette Piencikowski will talk about gifts God has given you. She will explain how you can use your gifts where God would have you serve as part of His vision and mission for the Church.
Prayer Walk: Walk about the hotel grounds with Mary Ann Liefke and have specific prayers at different locations.
