Our Worship
If you are wondering about our worship service, we meet at 10 a.m. every Sunday morning for a contemporary worship service that includes about 30 minutes of praise and worship and personal prayer for:

     ~ Individual needs

     ~ Healing for sickness

     ~ Anointing for spiritual breakthroughs

     ~ Ministry

We often have special music by soloists, duets, quartets, etc. Our morning message is from God's Word and is usually given by Pastor Carlson.  It is 25-35 minutes long and often is illustrated with live drama or with video clips. Notes are usually provided for the message and an outline and scripture verses appear on the front overhead screen.

Our Pastor
Pastor Paul Carlson has been at Hillside since 1985. He and his wife, Ruth have four childen: Jonathan, David, Holly, and Amber.  They invite you to join with them and the whole Hillside family in our vision: "Reaching out to connect people to God and others."

Constant Abiding

Read Psalms 1:1 through 2:12

Years ago during a time of drought in Germany, the vineyards along the Rhine River were adversely affected. One vineyard gained attention, because high up on one hill there were vines that flourished while others were drying up. A study was done, and they discovered the secret of these flourishing vines.

By carefully following the root system of one of these vines, it was discovered that they led all the way down the side of the hill to the river’s edge. While the other vines were waiting for rain, these had made their way to an unending source of moisture.

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers (Psalm 1:3).

You do not need to depend on the spiritual environment around you in order to thrive in your walk with God. The secret to flourishing in the midst of spiritual drought is tapping into the steady flow of God’s Spirit. David writes about delighting in the law of the Lord through steady meditation both day and night.

Thought for Today: Abide in Him and let His words abide in you, and you will thrive.
