Calling all Fathers and Daughters! Mpact Girls is sponsoring our annual Father/ Daughter Creative House Building event on Saturday, February 13th, 2021. This event is open to anyone who would like to come. We will be offering two sessions: 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
This event is designed so that girls can enjoy a few hours creating with their dad, grandfather, uncle or other adult male. Each team will be provided with supplies that can be used to make a graham cracker house. There are no rules as to how the house (or other structure) must look like, only that it stays together. This is an excellent opportunity for bonding relationships.
We realize that not every dad will be available so we encourage you to look to extended family members or friends to form the team. If you don’t have someone who can attend with your daughter, please let us know. We have adoptive dads who are ready to step in. If you are not comfortable with a substitute, we still want you to come. In these cases, any adult (over 18) may attend with your daughter.
There is no charge for this, but we do ask that you please RSVP by Wednesday, February 10th, to reserve your spot at the table and to ensure we have enough supplies on hand.
Each team will have their house on display at the church until Sunday, March 14th, upstairs in the foyer. We will allow people to vote for the best house by putting money in a jar next to that house. The money collected will be used for our Missions project. We know, of course, that the ballot boxes can be stuffed. In fact, we are encouraging that. You can vote for your own house or strongly encourage others to vote for your house. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, March 17th, during a special opening session for Mpact Girls. The houses are being made for the fun of it; the voting is a unique way for us to raise money for missions. Mark your calendars and start planning and designing now for a fun day on February 13th!
