October is National Pastor Appreciation Month, and we can’t think of a better reason to throw a party! Join us Sunday, October 18th at 10 a.m. as our church family gathers to honor the pastors who pour themselves out for us week after week — followed by a potluck feast together in the gym.
So much of what our pastors carry never shows up on a Sunday morning — the hospital visits, the late-night phone calls, the families walked through grief, the praying that happens when no one is watching. With two congregations to care for, they wear nearly every hat there is. This Sunday is our chance to celebrate them, thank God for them, and let them know how deeply they’re loved.
“Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you… Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:12–13
And here’s the beautiful thing — this isn’t just good for our pastors, it’s good for all of us. Hebrews 13:17 reminds us that when spiritual leaders serve “with joy and not with groaning,” the entire church benefits. There’s something about giving thanks together, as one family, that strengthens the whole church and knits our hearts closer.
“The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.”
— 1 Timothy 5:17
So come ready to celebrate what God is doing at Hillside and enjoy some really good food and fellowship afterward. Bring a dish to pass, bring a friend, and let’s fill the day with worship, gratitude, and joy!
