Isaiah 59:1 states, “Behold the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear.” Matthew 14:31 also says, “And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand and caught him (Peter) and said to him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”
These verses remind us of all of God’s faithfulness. He is always there in good and bad times and wants the best for us while we learn. We sometimes need to learn to lean on Him and trust He knows the answers and will guide us through. Even though scriptures were written long ago by the Holy Spirit through the men of God, they are relevant and alive today. Do your part to stay in God’s Word and constantly communicate with the King.
On February 18th, we had our semi-annual planning meeting with quite a few ladies in attendance. Were you there? I hope so. There are many ways for you to be involved, small and large. Some take more time than others. Sending care packages to college students is one way to help.
Hillside quilters gave out 23 quilts last year. They meet on the second Friday of every month in the basement at 8:30 am. If you do not know how to sew, that is okay; we have some of the best quilters in America right here.
On March 8th, there will be a soup and sandwich Lenten lunch at noon. If you would like to donate a crockpot of soup or a plate of sandwiches, let me or Teri von Brevern know. On March 19th, we have Kirk Brown coming to talk about Foster Care, and we will share a meal after the service. You can join in with the meal if you volunteer to bring a dish.
April 30th, there will be a baby shower for Nicole Froelich after the morning service. If you want to help in any way, see Virginia Havlovitz. Finally, our Mother/Daughter Banquet will be on May 19th, at 6:30 pm, which is always a beautiful time. Our theme is “Treasure Your Worth”. A special speaker will bring us a word from the scriptures. Here is another opportunity to get involved. If we all do our part, it makes less work for others so we can all enjoy life. Without your help, we feel incomplete as the body of Christ works together to get the gospel message out.
One final thought, If you think you can help in other ways, there are always places in the church that can be cleaned, sorted, and straightened. If you want to help, you can contact me anytime. Thanks and God’s richest blessings as you serve The King.
